This year for mother’s day, we had plans to go out to one of favorite Turkish cafe’s called Istanbul Borek in Cliffside, New Jersey.  At the last minute my mother and my aunts had a change of heart.  At 10:00 pm Saturday night, I said okay we are having a grand breakfast at my house!  So, Saturday night I stayed up past my bed time to put a simple and relaxed breakfast table together.  I love last minute get togethers and I love the adrenaline rush that come with it.  So, late Sunday morning I set the table and early Sunday morning I started cooking.  By the end of it all, I was beat but my mom, my aunts along with my daughter, brother and cousins were incredibly delighted.  Especially my daughter, ask her how she spend her mother’s day and she will name everyone that came over.

Rather I have been making desserts that either use cream cheese... Read More »

SINGLE SERVE COFFEE MACHINES

We are a coffee loving household! Well more like me, my husband needs a nice large cup in the morning which he takes with him and I need at least two maybe three cups during the day.  Yes, I know it is a lot of coffee, but I prefer a light brew with a decent amount of nonfat milk. Since coffee... Read More »

TURKISH TABBOULEH – KISIR

I really enjoy making and eating kisir, the Turkish version of Middle Eastern Tabbouleh. You might wonder what the difference is between the Turkish and the well known Middle Eastern versions.  The Turkish version contains more bulgur along with tomato & red pepper paste as well as less... Read More »
