ABOUT
NY’sDelight is a food adventures & kitchen junkie blog written by Staten Island, New York based cook & writer Aysegul aka Ashly. Aysegul was born & raised in Yalova, Turkey and has been living in the United States since 1989. Aside from cooking, she holds a BBA degree from Pace University & Master of Science in Accounting from Long Island University and works in Accounting. She is married and has a daughter Aleyna & lives with family in Staten Island, NY.
I’ve always had this passion and unimaginable interest in food & the kitchen, that began at a very young age. I’ve created this blog to share my food findings and ideas, this motivates me to share my kitchen adventures & ideas. If I were to define my cooking, I can honestly say, I am a variety of mixed foods and cultures. This a great example of how I grew up in New York with exposure to large diverse surroundings. A family business that specialized in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean Foods made cooking and tasting easily accessible with a wide variety of international foods and flavors.
This is my new kitchen. This was my old kitchen.

Merhaba! A good friend turned me onto Turkish cuisine awhile back, but Boston is sadly lacking in good Turkish restaurants-I think we have one, total
I highly encourage you to enter my recipe competition
Because it’d be fun – and because I would love to see some delicious recipes that I could replicate at home!
Cheers!

thank you, aysegul, for visiting my blog. i have just discovered yours and shall be visiting it often; it’s lovely. i have spent a lot of time in your country and simply adore it. some of my best memories are associated with a place called Cenat near the blue mosque which shut down quite a few years ago. they used to make a gorgeous borek filled w. minced meat. a pity it shut down.
happy blogging!

Dear NY’s Delight,
Thanks so much for your wonderful blog—pictures and all. I was traveling/living/falling in love with a particularily good looking Turkish man earlier this year, and could not get enough of the food. Trying to learn some recipes, I’ve been attempting to cook Turk cuisine apon my return. Tomorrow I am attempting Patlican Karniyak for my family, and hope all goes well. Thanks for helping!
