About: Aysegul Saygili

Aysegul Saygili is food and kitchen junkie, born and raised in Yalova, Turkey till the age of 8.  Living in the states since 1989, still resides in New York City.  She a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mom to beautiful Aleyna Senaa.  Aside from cooking, holds a BBA degree from Pace University & MS in Accounting from Long Island University and work as Accountant.

Always had this passion and unimaginable interest in food & the kitchen, that began at a very young age.  My mom has these incredible stories of how I would stand next to her on the kitchen stool,  because I was not tall enough to see what she was making.  Cooking, baking and making runs in the family, my grandmother and father were chefs and my uncle is still a chef.  All in all, I must say it comes naturally. To this day, my mom now my husband tries to get me out of the kitchen.

I created this blog to first to keep a record of my cooking recipe and photos.   I love to share my food finding and ideas, this motivates me to share my kitchen stories with you all.  If I were to define my cooking, I can honestly say, I am a variety of mixed foods and cultures, this sort of defines how I grew up.

I, live & work in an environment where I am exposed to a variety of international & gourmet foods.  Having our own family business A&D Turkish Halal Meat & Grocery Market that specializes in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean Foods makes it accessible to find, taste and cook with a wide variety of international foods and flavors.

Currently, I work in this kitchen Kitchen LI and all of the photos are taken by me.

I am currently snapping my pictures
with a Sony Alpha DSLRA300K

Merhaba! A good friend turned me onto Turkish cuisine awhile back, but Boston is sadly lacking in good Turkish restaurants-I think we have one, total

I highly encourage you to enter my recipe competition :) Because it’d be fun – and because I would love to see some delicious recipes that I could replicate at home!

    Cheers!

thank you, aysegul, for visiting my blog. i have just discovered yours and shall be visiting it often; it’s lovely. i have spent a lot of time in your country and simply adore it. some of my best memories are associated with a place called Cenat near the blue mosque which shut down quite a few years ago. they used to make a gorgeous borek filled w. minced meat. a pity it shut down.
    happy blogging!
