Sour green plums known in Turkish as can erik, this fruit is very well known in the Middle East, many European countries and in Japan.  Mainly available in April and May.

    Many people in Turkey have the fruit tree for the green plums that grow in their garden or backyards. My grandfather had planted several before he past away for us – he even brought a starter tree to us here – but it still has yet to give us some plums.
