Late morning brunch

The last two weeks have been incredibly busy. I’ve been in and out of the city, in and around boroughs and top it all of, my cousin got married last weekend. It was a wonderful Turkish wedding in the heart of Great Neck, Long Island.
I’ve been so busy that I neglected to update my website & my recipes, they are on top of my desk waiting to be posted.
During the middle of the week we had to prepare and attend a civil marriage ceremony. Before we left for the civil office, I prepared a light, healthy and quick late brunch.

These are just 2 of many varieties of Labne that is sold at AD Food. I love Karnak brand because it is a bit more sour then the other brands. Pinar brand is Turkish and many of our Arabic customer enjoy it because it tastes like it is home made.

Cheese plate
- plate half the string cheese
- plate a block of feta cheese

Marmara Birlik brand black olives - washed and drizzled with olive oil

Finely dice the red onion, tomatoe, jalapeno peppers and cilantro and place in a deep dish. Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed, dice the avocdo while it is still in its skin. Serve with bread or tortila chips.

My mom prepared pepper, tomatoe and egg omelet earlier (melmen) I finished cooking later.
