Easy White flour Rose water Cake

While Rose Cake

Yesterday, I made this cake for the morning guests we were having.  The cake was just delicious.

A touch of rose water goes a long away.

White Rose Cake 1

Nicely brewed columbian and french roast coffee to go along with it.

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter (melted)

  • 1 – 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour

  • 1/2 cup of semi-sweet ghirardelli chocolate chips

  • rose water 1 tablespoon of rose water (i used cortas brand) Cortas Rose Water

Preparation:

Pre-heat your oven, the cake will cook at 350 degrees.

In a deep shallow bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar, milk, baking powder, vanilla, rose water & melted butter.  Add in the flour and mix all the ingredients well until everything is evenly incorporated.  Finally add the chocolate chips and fold it into the cake mixture.

Grease the cake mold with non-stick cooking spray. (i used Pam for baking.) Pour the mixture into the cake mould evenly. The cake will bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until a toothpicks comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool for about 15 minutes. Remove the cake from the mold, place it on a nice serving dish and serve.  Decorate as you wish.

I made the rose water pound cake according to directions. The cake did not rise much at all. Is it supposed to? How high should it get? It is only about an inch and a half.
